15th November 2006, Earl's Court, London
The World Music Awards 2006 at Earl’s Court in London was a night to remember, filled with extraordinary performances, unforgettable moments, and a star-studded lineup that kept the energy levels soaring all night long. As a grooming professional, I, Lukas Kroulik, had the unique opportunity to be backstage, ensuring the stars looked their best for one of the most prestigious nights in music.
One of my personal highlights from that evening was working with DJ Bob Sinclar, who was not only nominated but went on to win DJ of the Year. Preparing him for his big moment was such a privilege, and it was fantastic to see him take the stage and receive his well-deserved accolade. The excitement in the air was tangible, and being a part of that moment behind the scenes made it all the more special.
The celebration brought together a host of celebrities, each adding their own sparkle to the event. Paris Hilton, who was a notable guest, dazzled on the red carpet. It’s incredible to see how far she’s come since then, now a fantastic DJ in her own right. Other notable attendees included Beyoncé, who delivered a powerhouse performance, and Michael Jackson, who received the Diamond Award for selling over 100 million albums throughout his career.
The highlight of the celebration, however, was the atmosphere – a true celebration of music from around the globe. From rock to pop, hip-hop to electronic, the World Music Awards 2006 showcased a diversity of talent and proved to be a night where legends were made and music reigned supreme.
Reflecting on that night, it’s clear that the 2006 World Music Awards was more than just a ceremony; it was a celebration of music’s power to unite and inspire. And for me, being a part of it behind the scenes remains an unforgettable experience.
